Workforce Readiness Directors in each Iowa chapter continue to serve as the point person for workforce readiness initiatives by working with their community educators, city and state leaders, and local businesses.

In December, 2010, the IA SHRM Council signed a letter of support for the Iowa NCRC, an ACT based workforce skills credentialing system.

DOL SUPPORTS INDUSTRY-CERTIFIED APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS
Employers are closer to being able to participate in industry-led, government-sanctioned apprenticeship programs separate from the federal and state registered apprenticeship system that many find cumbersome.

SHRM & WHITE HOUSE NATIONAL INITIATIVE
